Veteran Housing Australia (VHA) was born from a simple but urgent truth: too many of the men and women who served our country are now facing homelessness or housing insecurity.
For decades, Carry On—our parent organisation—has stood beside veterans and their families, delivering humanitarian aid, practical support, and subsidised housing. With more than 90 years of experience, Carry On has witnessed firsthand the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life, particularly when it comes to securing safe and affordable housing.
The need is real. Veterans are dramatically overrepresented in Australia’s homeless population, and without stable housing, the risks of unemployment, poor health, and social isolation grow even greater. A safe home is not just a roof overhead—it is the foundation for recovery, dignity, and hope.
Recognising this, VHA was created as a dedicated service to focus solely on ending veteran homelessness. We draw on Carry On’s proud legacy while expanding our capacity to meet the pressing housing needs of today’s veteran community.
At VHA, we listen to veterans. We hear their stories, their struggles, and their hopes for the future. Our mission is clear: to provide affordable, secure housing that empowers veterans and their families to rebuild their lives, thrive, and succeed.
VHA is more than housing—it’s a promise. A promise that no veteran should be left behind.
