For too many veterans, coming home doesn’t mean feeling safe. Housing insecurity and homelessness are challenges faced by far too many who served,  and Veteran Housing Australia exists to change that.

We’re the lead organisation addressing veteran homelessness in Australia, and the only Registered Community Housing Provider dedicated solely to veterans. That focus means every home we provide, every partnership we build, and every dollar we raise goes toward one thing: getting veterans and their families into secure, affordable, long-term housing.

We’re on track to deliver 350,000 nights of accommodation to veterans and their families experiencing homelessness- that’s real nights, in real homes.

Housing First, No Conditions Attached

We believe housing is a right, not a reward. That’s why we apply a housing-first approach: priority goes to those in greatest need, and there are no preconditions attached to entry. No hoops to jump through before someone gets a roof over their head,  just a safe place to start rebuilding.

Housing That Stays Affordable

Stability only works if it’s sustainable. Our rents are calculated at the lower of a percentage of household income or 75% of market rent, so veterans and their families aren’t trading one kind of hardship for another. (In Victoria, our dwellings are set in line with state law requirements for registered community housing providers.)

And we’re not stopping there — we’re always looking for ways to expand and reach more veterans in need.
