Every fundraiser helps
Around 6,000 Australian veterans are experiencing homelessness. These are people who served our country and now have nowhere safe to go.
You can help change that, and you don’t need to run a marathon or a gala dinner to do it. A sausage sizzle, a trivia night or a casual Friday can all raise money that goes towards a safe place to call home.
Since 1932, when William Hawkins made a vow to look after returned soldiers, our community has been looking after those who served. Your fundraiser carries that promise forward.

Every fundraiser helps
Pick one, put your own spin on it, or dream up something completely different.
Trivia night
Gather your mates, your team or your local pub for a night of friendly rivalry. Charge a table or entry fee, add a raffle and a “wooden spoon” for the last-place team, and you’ve got a night people will talk about for weeks.
Sausage sizzle
Classic, easy and always a crowd-pleaser. Set up outside your workplace, local hardware store or footy club, and let a gold coin donation and a sausage in bread do the work.
Casual clothes day
A great fit for workplaces and schools. Everyone swaps the dress code for a gold coin donation. It’s quick to organise and everyone can join in.
Morning tea or bake sale
Bring a plate, bring a friend, bring a donation. It works well for offices, community groups and family get-togethers.
Workplace challenge
Set a team goal, whether it’s steps, kilometres, a month without coffee or a head shave, and let colleagues sponsor you along the way. Many employers will match what staff raise.
Birthday or celebration fundraiser
Skip the gifts this year. Ask friends and family to donate to VHA to mark your birthday, wedding or milestone.
Morning tea or bake sale
Quiz night, car wash, art auction, trivia, comedy night, garage sale. If you can dream it up, we can help you make it happen.
