Support Services
Providing Veterans and their families with stability, connection and hope
VHA can refer to other support services via our parent organisation, Carry On. Carry On has been delivering humanitarian and practical support to Veterans for the last 90 years. When Carry On was established by Bill Hawkins in 1932, its mission was to provide support for those who were doing it tough through providing housing, advocacy, education, relief, and financial support. VHA will draw on the decades of experience gained from Carry On’s history in the sector providing subsidised housing for Veterans and their families.
Our community housing aims to provide secure, affordable, long-term rental housing for Veterans and their families who are experiencing homelessness and/or financial hardship. Similarly, our crisis accommodation exists to support Veterans and their families who are vulnerable to experiencing homelessness.
The need for support for Veterans is undeniable and there are many organisations – like ours – that exist for just that reason. Both VHA and Carry On are focused on inclusion and multi-generational support. This includes financial assistance to enable Veterans and their families to pay bills or buy furniture and appliances, connection with appropriate mental health support services and of course accommodation solutions delivered by VHA.
We understand life can be unpredictable and there are times when circumstances are out of an individual’s control. Once you move into your new VHA property, you will continue to be supported. Our property managers and welfare support managers are on call to assist and to make sure you settle comfortably and successfully into your new home.
If you have any questions about the support we offer or would like more information about VHA, please get in touch with us – we are here to help.
